Milwaukee River Challenge

Milw. River Challenge Originally uploaded by Gadder.

While taking the Riverwalk Tour on Sat. Sept. 17th I got to watch the rowing crews paticipating in the Milwaukee River Challenge.

The U.S. men compete in the 8+ race on a 2.2 mile course on the Milwaukee River through downtown Milwaukee. The U.S. squad easily won the men's 8+ competition with a time of 18 minutes 27.69 seconds. Beau Hoopman, a Plymouth native, was part of the 8+squad--eight-man plus coxswain--that won gold at Athens last year as well as the group that captured the 8+ world championship last month in Japan.
